Tanzania School Makumira-Kilala English Medium School

In the Fall of 2012, St. John's sent a team to Usa River, Tanzania to learn of the possibilities of joing in a partnership with the Lutheran Diocese to build a Christian school.  The outcome resulted in the construction of 8 classrooms, restrooms, and an administration building.  This first buildilng phase was completed in the spring of 2014 and officially dedicated in June, 2014.   Shortly thereafter the first classes, Preschool through First Grade,l occupied the building.

Phase 2 of building soon followed with the completion of four additional classrooms.  Phase 3, the Kindergarten Building, was completed for the opening of the January 2018 school year.

In addition to building support, the people of St. John's sponsor approximately 2/3 of the enrolled student body from the three year olds through Grade Five, which is the highest grade in 2018.   Each year, as the school grows to reach its potential of Grade Seven, St. John's will sponsor additional children.
